Latest News. Page 5/33 December 2009 Our Aeroplane in 1971 If you scan back through the "Story" section of the website, you will find a section on the time that Biggles Biplane spent with the Flying Circus air show at Bealeton in Virginia.
Now thanks to former BE pilot Ted Whitcomb and current Flying Circus aviator Tim Bridges, we have some pictures of the aeroplane and its contemporaries. They were taken in 1971, in the early years of the Flying Circus, in fact just a few months after the BE-2 replica arrived in the USA.
Tim and Ted inform us that the aeroplane remained with the Flying Circus for just a year, before being sold to a group of pilots in the New York area (not Rhinebeck). If anyone has any more information on this period from 1972 to the aeroplane's accident in 1977, we would love to hear from you!
The Flying Circus Aerodrome will shortly begin its 40th year of operations and continues to give visitors a real taste of barnstorming excitement. Check out their website at www.flyingcircusairshow.com and watch out for more photos of the BE!
