November 2007 "SEB" Ready To Fly Again
Great news from Thatcham in Berkshire. By the time you read this Sam Harper's Luton Minor may have already made its first post-restoration flight! One of many Minors to be built in the 1960s using the ubiquitous Lycoming 0-145 engine, many of which were sold as "war surplus" having being shipped from America in 1944 to power Army field generators, G-ASEB was first registered in November 1962. She last flew in 1982, so it seems perfectly appropriate that she gets back into the air after a quarter of a century of inactivity, on the month of her 45th birthday! Her beautiful finish is a testament to Sam's hard work. Well done Sam and enjoy the test flying programme!! |
